About Massive Customs
Massive Customs is a Michigan-based design studio focused on practical, well-built products that solve real problems in everyday life.
Everything is designed and produced in-house, with a focus on fit, durability, and making everyday routines a little easier.
How It Started
I’m Derek, the founder of Massive Customs. I first became curious about 3D design while I was in college for audio engineering, but it really started becoming real years later when I began making small Blender animations for my Twitch stream.
One of my first practical designs: an exhaust fan mount for my first print room, built around two Noctua industrial fans.
In 2024, I got my first 3D printer, an Ankermake M5. Around the same time, I had to take time away from my day job, which gave me the space to really dive into CAD, product design, and the process of turning an idea into something useful.
It was not glamorous, but it solved a real problem. That is still the core of how I design products now.
Around that same time, I started taking Zepbound and wanted a more discreet way to store my medication than keeping it in the original boxes. I designed a storage case for myself, shared it online, and it started getting attention from other people who wanted the same thing.
Meet Derek & Anna
Anna plays a huge role in helping Massive Customs grow. She helps with marketing, social media, event planning, merchandising, vendor coordination, and the many behind-the-scenes details that help turn a small product studio into a real brand.
She brings experience with screen printing, promotional merchandise, event-based marketing, and a strong network of connections. She also helps keep the business moving forward in ways that make it easier for me to focus on design, production, and product development.
Outside of Massive Customs, Anna loves live music, comedy, and hockey - especially the Detroit Red Wings.
Massive Customs is still small, but it is becoming a real two-person operation with a shared goal: build useful products, treat people well, and grow this thing the right way.
Where the Product Lines Come From
The products are not random. Each category came from something real in our lives.
Built from personal experience and the need for something more discreet, organized, and durable.
Inspired by my love of strongman and strength training, with a focus on cleaner, better organized training spaces.
Inspired by Odin and Loki, and by wanting better everyday products for animals and the people who love them.
Odin and Loki
Odin is our German Shepherd and Black Lab mix, and he recently turned 9. He is officially the Head of Security at Massive Customs, which mostly means he listens incredibly well, keeps an eye on everything, and has been my number one dude since he was a baby.
Loki turned 1 in March. He is a blockhead in the most lovable way possible. He is ultra sweet, deeply committed to bad snack decisions, and has shown a concerning interest in both bees and goose poop. He also loves Odin very much.
Odin tries very hard to convince us that he does not love Loki, but we catch them snuggling and playing all the time. So the secret is out.
Our Work With Brookeside Veterinary Clinic
Odin and Loki both go to Brookeside Veterinary Clinic, and we also have a working relationship with them through our custom slow feeder dog bowls.
That relationship means a lot to us. Our pet products are connected to our real dogs, real routines, and real conversations with people who care deeply about animal health and quality of life.
Drumsgiving and Community
Before Massive Customs became my full-time focus, a lot of my creative energy was built around music, streaming, and community.
I organize Drumsgiving, a Twitch charity event that raises money for Save The Music Foundation. Over the years, Drumsgiving has raised more than $53,000 to help support music education.
That experience shaped a lot of how I think about business. Community matters. Trust matters. Doing something useful with the platform you have matters.
Massive Customs Full Time
In May 2026, I left my day job to pursue Massive Customs full time.
That decision came from wanting to fully dedicate myself to helping people, building better products, growing the company, and making the dream of working for myself a real, sustainable thing.
If you buy from us, ask us a question, request a custom design, or work with us on something bigger, you are dealing with real people who genuinely care about getting it right.
